Staff Qualifications

Highly qualified teaching staff:

We boast a highly qualified teaching staff that includes academicians, entrants from the high-level talent scheme and Chang Jiang Scholars. We have 118 full-time teachers, 45 with senior titles, 58 with associate titles, and 73 with doctoral degrees. These include 1 academician from the Chinese Engineering Academy and Director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, 1 member of the Discipline Evaluation Team of the State Council and 3 chief scientists from the "973 Projects" (China's National Key Basic Research Development Plan). In addition, 5 are listed in the Talents Project of the National Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, and there are 4 Distinguished Professors, 1 Young Scholar and 1 Outstanding Youth Talent from the Chang Jiang Scholars Programme, plus 3 from the Support Plan of the National Million Talent Project in the New Century, 4 scientific and technological innovation leading talents from the "Ten Thousand Plan", 12 are on the list of the Programme for New Century Excellent Talents in University, and  3 Science and Technology Innovation Teams in key areas assigned by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology.

We have numerous scientific research centres, including the State Key Laboratory Of High Performance Complex Manufacturing, Ministry of Education Engineering Research Centre of Aluminum Alloy Strong Rheological Technology and Equipment, State Key Laboratory of Exploitation and Utilisation of Deep Sea Mineral Resources (Joint construction with Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Co., Ltd.), National Innovation Centre for High Performance Aluminum and Large Component Manufacturing, Industrialisation Base of Achievements of National High-Tech Research and Development Programme, Changsha Gear Engineering Technology Research Centre, CSU-ASM Microelectronics Packaging Technology Lab, Research Centre of Micro and Nano Manufacturing Technology and Equipment (CSU), Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (CSU), Research Centre for Deep Sea Resources Development Technology (CSU), Mining and Metallurgical Equipment Research Centre (CSU). Furthurmore, we have a Demonstration Laboratory of Basic Courses in Colleges and Universities of Hunan Province, a Hunan Province Postgraduate Training Innovation Base (first batch), and three National-level Engineering Practice Education Centres.
