Highly qualified teaching staff:

We have outstanding teaching staff, including academicians, entrants from the high-level talents scheme, Chang Jiang Scholars and others. There are 95 professors, 113 associate professors, 1 academician from the Chinese Engineering Academy, 2 Chang Jiang Scholars, 1 National Distinguished Young Scholar, 2 leading academics from the "Ten Thousand Plan", 2 academics from Ministry of Science and Technology's Innovation Talents Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 10 National "Si Qing" academics (distinguished young academics from four national programmes: National Plan for 1000 Distinguished Youth, "Ten Thousand Plan", Chang Jiang Scholars Programme, and Excellent Young Scientists Fund), 9 listed in the Programme for New Century Excellent Talents in University, 3 leading figures in science and technology of Hunan province, 7 Outstanding Youths of Hunan Province, 3 listed in Hunan's 100 Talents Plan, 7 from the Hunan High-Level Talent Gathering Project and 6 academic leaders from universities in Hunan Province. National key disciplines:

We have 2 first-tier disciplines and 3 secondary disciplines listed in the National Key Disciplines, 2 Postdoctoral Programmes of first-tier disciplines, 3 doctoral degree programmes of first-level disciplines, 11 doctoral degree programmes of secondary disciplines and 14 master's degree programmes.

We have 1 national and 6 provincial and ministerial innovation research platforms, including: National Engineering Research Centre for Construction Technology of High Speed Railway, Heavy-Haul Railway Engineering Structure Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, Joint Laboratory of International Cooperation on Key Technologies of Rail Traffic Safety, Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of Rail Transit Engineering Structures, Hunan Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centre of Prefabricated Construction, Hunan Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centre of Advanced Building Materials and Structures, Hunan Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centre of Polluted Water Treatment and Recycling.
