On the afternoon of 14 June, the second meeting of the Joint Management Committee (JMC) of Dundee International Institute of Central South University (DIICSU) was held via video conference. The meeting was co-chaired by Li Zhihong, Chair of the JMC and Vice President of Central South University (CSU), and Wendy Alexander, Vice Chair of the JMC and Vice Principal (International) of the University of Dundee (UoD).

During the meeting, representatives from both sides presented updates on premises refurbishment and staff accommodation, staff training, student recruitment marketing, teaching arrangements and personnel appointments. JMC members then put forward proposals regarding committee member changes and the date for the inaugural Opening Ceremony for DIICSU’s first cohort in 2022, all of which were approved following a vote.

Li Zhihong and Wendy Alexander jointly remarked that both sides would work to mitigate uncertainties such as the pandemic and visa issues, fully uphold teaching standards at DIICSU and ensure a smooth arrival for the first cohort of students.

Present at the JMC meeting were members from CSU: Peng Manru, Bai Yi, He Xuhui, Gao Dongbo, Zou Runmin and Yi Liang; and members from the UoD: José Fiadeiro, Peter Fotheringham, Jason Norris, Dianne Peden and Andrew Munns.
